Gimlet Point TSA

Description:

A Gimlet point is a threaded point on the tip of a screw.  On a standard TSA the threads stop just short of the short tip whereas a Gimlet point has threads that continue further down the tip of the screw.

Application:

Used where the necessary driving torque to install the screw is a concern.  The Gimlet point begins to displace wood immediately upon contact thereby reducing the torque needed to drive the screw in.
