Employee Benefits

Benefits are available for all full time employees once certain requirements have been met.  Employees working through a temporary agency will not be eligible until they are added to J & E Supply’s payroll.  Full Time is defined as working an average of 38 hrs. or more per week.

Vacation: After one year of employment, employees receive 40 hours paid vacation.  After two years of employment  employees receive 80 hours paid vacation.  After 10 years of employment and every year there after, employees receive fifteen 120 hours paid vacation.   An employee may take all or a portion of his or her vacation at any time that will not unreasonably disrupt the business operations of the corporation.   An employees request for leave must be approved at least two weeks in advance.  Unused vacation shall not be carried over to the next year without the approval of the corporation.

Holidays: Employees receive seven (7) paid holidays a year provided they fall on a normal work day (Monday thru Friday.) i.e., if Christmas Eve falls on Friday and Christmas on Saturday you would be paid holiday pay for Christmas Eve but not Christmas.  These holidays are New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  Employees must work their scheduled eight (8) hours the work day before and eight (8) hours the day after the holiday to receive holiday pay unless prior arrangements have been made.

Insurance: Full Time employees, working an average of  38 hrs. per week, receive health insurance after a period of sixty  (60) days employment.  Subject to Health Care Benefit Requirements, see benefit manager for packet of information.

Dependent Health Care Premium Allowance: To receive this benefit you must to be a full time J & E employee and to have five (5) and ten (10) years of employment, with no breaks of service greater than six (6) months.¹  For breaks greater than six (6) months, pre and post break service will be added together to reach your accrued length of employment.  Dependents are eligible if not covered under other health coverage plans.

¹  BENEFIT:  Five (5) years of service would qualify for 50% of the dependent care premium. Ten (10) years of service would qualify for 100% of the dependent care premiums.

Overtime: Actual hours physically worked over 40 hours per week will be paid at time and a half. Overtime pay with holiday pay means you must have worked an actual 40 hours before time and half begins.

Sick Leave:

Eligibility: You must be a full-time employee (at least 38 hours per week) and have been employed for 6 Consecutive Months.

Accrual Criteria: You must be On Time for work Every Day to accrue 1 hour of sick leave per week.  Exceptions: Sick Leave will accrue in these situations: Pre-approved Vacation; Pre-approved Leave of Absence; Illness with doctors note; Approved doctor’s appointment with note upon return; Funeral Leave; Jury Duty; Military Duties.

Accrual Limits:  Maximum sick leave earned is 55 minutes per week (approximately 1 hour), 4 hours per month. Maximum sick leave accrued is 48 hours (6 days) per year.  If you do not use all of your leave, your accrued time will be forwarded to the next calendar year with a maximum forwarded of 120 days. You can accrue less than the maximum hours allowed per month, i.e. meeting the requirements 3 weeks of a month would result in 3 hours of sick leave.

Use of Sick Leave: Used only for employee illness or dependent care with Doctor’s note. Absentee Form must be completed and filed with your supervisor.  Sick Leave Is Not Vacation Time.

Use of Sick Leave for a Funeral: The deceased must be an immediate relation to the employee.  This includes spouse, children, parents,  siblings, grand-parents, and spouse’s parents only.
