Description:

Fender washers are washers that offer larger than normal OD’s (outside diameter) and are typically thinner than USS and SAE flat washers.  They are typically zinc plated and not available in a hardened grade of material.  One advantage to fender washers is there are usually multiple OD options for each bolt size.  Example: we offer 1/4” fender washers with 1”, 1 1/4”, 1 1/2”, and 2” OD’s.

Application:

They are commonly used to spread the load on thin metal and are named after their use on automobile fenders. They can also be used to make a connection to a hole that has been enlarged by rust or wear.
